Here we have a rare 1982 Seiko 5 Automatic \'Omani Police Force\' 6309-9000, often given as awards for distinguished service. First introduced as the Seiko Sportsmatic 5 in 1963, it became an instant bestseller for Seiko. Seiko 5 is the longest-running sub-brand in the Seiko family. The ‘5’ stands for the watch\'s ‘5’ principal attributes:

Featuring a 36.5mm tonneau-shaped stainless steel case that comfortably sits on your wrist, thanks to the integrated bracelet. Its curved flanks with well-defined lines lead to a lug-to-lug length of 42mm and a case thickness of 11.5mm. On the right side, at 4 o’clock, a recessed coin-edged crown keeps the profile seamless. A smooth bezel holds a flat Hardlex crystal above a Royal Blue dial. An outer minute track with lume pips surrounds the applied bevel-edged steel baton indexes, marking the hours. At 3 o’clock, a framed Arabic/English Day/Date window. Steel baton hands filled with lume are complemented by a tapered sweeping second hand. At 6 o’clock, we have the Royal Police of Sultanate Oman emblem; at noon, the applied Seiko 5 17J motif; and, under the emblem, Automatic completes this special Royal Oman Police issue timepiece.
