Dating between 1790 and 1840, this antique French table came from a farm house in the southwest region of France where it was originally used for a family\'s dining and cooking preparation. Now, we love this as an oversized table in an entryway, a serving buffet in a dining room or next to a large window, filled with pottery, books and a cozy lamp.
Filled with beautiful, honest patina with splits in the wood, cutting marks on the tabletop, nails dotted along the edges and top, hand-carved wooden knobs and an oversized brass keyhole, this piece adds instant character and charm to your home.
Due to the low apron (remember, people were smaller centuries ago!), this is not recommended for use as a dining table or desk, as most people will not be able to comfortably fit their legs under the apron. Feet could be added to the legs to allow for use as a dining table or desk.
As shown in photos, the apron front and tabletop are bowed. There are old holes and wear from previous insects, which is common in pieces of this age. We consider these to be part of this piece\'s charm and story (aka, she\'s a dang-good lookin\' old gal, y\'all!).
