Tencha is made from leaves that, like gyokuro, are shaded for over 20 days before harvesting to concentrate their umami. After picking, the leaves are not rolled but dried in a “tencha furnace,” giving them an appearance similar to green seaweed.

Since tencha rarely appears on the market, it is considered a very rare tea unique to its region.

The tea leaves are of the Okumidori variety, known for their gentle sweetness and clean, refreshing finish.

Brewing Instructions:
